Bonnie and Barb, I got to know your father when he would come each year and talk about his role in WWII for the Eureka Middle School's Veterans' Day Program. I loved sitting and talking with him and always enjoyed his stories with that sparkle in his eyes. He truly was a wonderful man.

Dear Acker family, While I have never met any of you I knew your father well. He was a good friend of my father Jerry Detweiler, through their friendship I knew your dad for decades. I will miss your father's overflowing personality and his passion for life, his stories were captivating and his laughter contagious. I know he missed your mother so much and I pray you will find comfort in knowing they are together again. May God give you peace and comfort in this difficult time. He was a Great American. Our sincere condolences to all of you. We are the family that contacted your father through the 12th Armored Division Museum. Your dad was my dad's tank driver in WWII. He visited us twice and it was a most wonderful time for my family. If it is at all possible, could you please contact me. Dick was suppose to come up to see us this year and we just found out about his passing. You had a wonderful dad and I am so happy that we were able to be a small part of his life. Thank you for sharing your dad with us. Virginia L. Mott
